August ’18 Book Haul

Hello there!

I bought very specific books in my August Book Haul. It wasn’t one of those months were I picked some reads at random, based on covers or fame.

In total, I got 5 books.

My most recent book haul included Gemina and Obsidio, book no. 2 and 3 respectively in the Illuminae series. I loved Illuminae, it was a such a unique read due to the way it was written in. Very original but also very intriguing story line, I was happy to pick up this sci-fi novel and now I look forward to continuing with the series.

Gemina picks up right after the ending of Illuminae and it tells a story through two new characters, Hanna and Nik, who are on board of the jump station Heimdall. Hanna is the stations captain’s daughter and Nik is a reluctant member of a crime family. Both of them confront the next wave of the BeiTech assault.

I haven’t read up any summary of Obsidio, because I didn’t want to spoil myself, but I’m happy to have it at hand in case I fall in love with Gemina and want to continue immediately.

The second part of my book haul included the remaining books in the Shatter Me series. I bought Unravel Me, Ignite Me and Restore Me, books no. 2, 3 and 4 respectively in the series. If you follow my blog, you know Shatter Me is the best book I read in 2018 thus far and the only one I felt that deserved 5 stars. I finished Shatter Me on the same day I started it and saying I cannot wait to jump right into its sequels is an understatement.

Unravel Me picks up the story of Juliette and Alex in continuing their fight against the rebellion. Once I finish my current read, I am sure to enjoy this series once more and my expectations are incredibly high.
