Hello lovelies and welcome to my November Book Haul!
This month I have ordered three books and one bookish item, so let’s start with the reads:
First up we have “The Diary of a Bookseller” by Shaun Bythell.
It is a biography/memoir that I got interested in after reading the title. I have never read such book and thought it would be interesting and unique to read real life stories from an independent bookseller’s perspective.
“Shaun Bythell owns The Bookshop, Wigtown – Scotland’s largest second-hand bookshop. that contains 100,000 books, spread over a mile of shelving, set in a beautiful, rural town by the edge of the sea. A book-lover’s paradise? Well, almost … In these wry and hilarious diaries, Shaun provides an inside look at the trials and tribulations of life in the book trade, from struggles with eccentric customers to wrangles with his own staff, who include the ski-suit-wearing, bin-foraging Nicky. He takes us with him on buying trips to old estates and auction houses, recommends books (both lost classics and new discoveries), introduces us to the thrill of the unexpected find, and evokes the rhythms and charms of small-town life, always with a sharp and sympathetic eye. ”
Next up, I got second and third novel in the Firebird series by Claudia Gray, “Ten Thousand Skies Above You” and “ A Million Worlds with You”, respectively. I just finished the first read, “A Thousand Pieces of You” and I must say I enjoyed it, I look forward to continue with this story.
“Ten Thousand Skies Above You” picks up where the 1st book finished and so the crazy story of Marguerite continues as she’s using Firebird, her parents’ invention, to cross into alternate dimensions.
Last but not least, long overdue, I finally got my hands on a book sleeve!
I needed one desperately, I tend to bring my current read with me everywhere I go, even if I know in advance, I will not have time to read it. The cover tends to bent in those situations and I’m clumsy enough to spill something on it as well, so a book sleeve should be of use to me! I got one with “Day of the Dead” cat design, large in size so it should fir majority of my reads.
That is everything for my November Book Haul. What is the latest book you got for yourself? Let me know down in the comment section 😊
Thanks for reading and until next time, Dream On, Dreamers!
