February Wrap Up

February is far too short of a month, but even if it was longer, I don’t think I would have done any better.

I have been in a reading slump for all the 28 days. I only read one full length novel and two graphic novels, one of which was only 60 pages long.

I am just not happy with my performance. I’ve been far busier and far more tired than I have before and unfortunately my reading took a toll. On the positive side, I have found myself writing significantly more of my own stuff, especially poetry, but I will talk about that in a different post, if you’re interested.

My obsession with the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams continues and so I read the third book, ‘Life, The Universe and Everything’. It had far more elaborate plot line than the previous novels however I did not enjoy it as much. It seemed to be lacking those life truths that were ever so present before, this read didn’t seem to me to be as thought-provoking as I was expecting it to be. Regardless, the adventures of Arthur Dent and his colleagues are still one of a kind and I am planning on finishing this series in March, but we will see how it goes.

The short graphic novel I read this month was ‘The Tea Dragon Society’ by Katie O’Neill and it was included in this month’s OwlCrate box. It is very short but adorable story about (you guessed it) dragons. Cute, charming and relaxing read that I read in whole over a nice cup of tea and the illustrations are breath-taking.

The second graphic novel I read is ‘Preacher, Book One’ by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon and jeez is it a gruesome one! I’ve read many stories in my life, but this one is one a kind, not for everyone. Not only was the story f**cked up, but even the illustrations were disturbing. I loved it all, it was so original in so many aspects and funny at that as well. I cannot wait to write and share my review of it!

Overall, my February reads were really good, I just don’t feel like I have read enough. I set my 2019 challenge at 45 books and I would like to read 4 books a month as a minimum, more if possible. I mean 45 books in a year is a target, it would be lovely to exceed it, push my limits.

Hopefully March will be a better month! I am optimistic, as long as progress is made.

How was your February? Did you read as much as you wanted? Let me know down in the comment section!

Thank you for reading my monthly wrap up and until next time, Dream On, Dreamers!
